New Animals at Hahn Ranch!
Yesterday was an exciting day here at Hahn Ranch: we got three new goats and dozens of laying chicks! We originally planned to tether the goats to the fench around the property so they could munch our weeds all around the perimeter. Unfortunately, these goats did NOT like being tethered, so they ended up getting tangled pretty quickly. Wyoming Weather Always Wins
Things are looking good and manageable on May 29th, 2026! Ecclesiastes 11:4 says, "Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap." These past few weeks have really shown us how powerless we are to fight mother nature! In late May we had a strong wind storm that ripped up the landscaping fabric, which also uprooted several corn stalks and other seedlings. We thought maybe we could handle the Wyoming weather after all...until June 13th.

Field Day #2
We are trying out three fields in our first planting season: Field 1 for perennials, Field 2 for vegetables, and Field 3 for grains. We are adopting a no-till approach, which involves a lot of manual labor with broadforking to turn the soil. Laramie, Wyoming has a very short growing season—approximately 90 days—so our planting schedule for the field has limited flexibility. We have some cold weather coming tomorrow, so we are waiting to transplant our seedlings for a few day
